The brave are those who see imminent danger and still walk into it. That’s how Maureen Fanning, widow of NY Firefighter, Battalion Chief Jack Fanning, describes the selfless sacrifice the FD NY made on September 11, 2001. 343 New York City firefighters died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. The bravest of the brave; they were fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands. From the Ground Up: 10 Years after 9/11 is the story of their widows. This film captures the resilience, courage, and indomitable human spirit embodied by these regular people who have survived extraordinary loss. It will also highlight and celebrate the myriad contributions that 9/11 families have extended to their communities as they seek ways to honor those who were lost.
